CNC Machinist/Toolmaker

Job Title: Manual Machinist

Shift: 1st shift, 8-hour shift with flexible scheduling between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Salary: Competitive salary based on skills and experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at our Parma, OH location. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for analyzing specifications and blueprints, setting up and operating machines, and assembling parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze specifications and blueprints to determine materials required and machines to be used for fabricating parts

• Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations

• Measure, mark, and scribe tool steels for machining

• Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and O.D grinders

• Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications

• Fabricate and assemble parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms

• Complete daily operator maintenance checklists, inspection sheets, and other applicable paperwork

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-3 years' experience with lathes, mills, grinders, and blueprints

• Journeyman's card is a plus

• Tool making and die maker experience is a plus

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, G&M code, and procedure manuals

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and proficiency in all shop math including geometry, algebra, and trigonometry

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
