Position Overview:
Epic Travel Staffing is actively seeking a skilled Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.

Work Schedule:
The position involves night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a weekend rotation of every other weekend or 50% weekends within a 4-week schedule. Travelers are not typically scheduled for on-call hours, but may be placed on-call due to low census situations.

Holiday Requirements:
Travelers are expected to work every other holiday during the contract period.

Qualifications:
  • Valid RN License in the state of South Dakota
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • ONS Chemotherapy Certification is preferred

Patient Care:
The role involves caring for adult patients with diverse medical conditions, including but not limited to:
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Acute Renal Failure (ARF)
  • Hepatitis
  • End-Stage Liver Disease (ESLD)
  • Diabetes Mellitus (DM)
  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Pneumonia
  • Sepsis
  • Gastrointestinal Bleeding
  • Syncope
  • Chest Pain
  • Pulmonary Emboli
  • Respiratory Failure
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Arrhythmias
  • Seizure Disorders
  • Overdose
  • Delirium Tremors

Patient Ratios:
In the PCU/Telemetry unit, the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for both day and night shifts, while the Med/Surg unit maintains a ratio of 1:5.

The Progressive Care Unit consists of 56 beds, providing a comprehensive care environment.
