Nurse Endoscopy Specialist

UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Endoscopy Specialist to join our team at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. This is a day-shift position with a call rotation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
As a Nurse Endoscopy Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching, and making necessary referrals to ensure continuity of care. You will also develop individual plans of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team. Your expertise will be utilized to deliver high-quality care, utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned units.

Responsibilities:
Assess the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making necessary referrals to ensure continuity of care.
Develop individual plans of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and healthcare team.
Deliver high-quality care, utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned units.
Utilize a holistic approach to care, considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients and families served.
Delegate and provide direction for other healthcare providers, holding them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice, sharing knowledge through networking and research.
Assess and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patients and their families' age-specific needs, culture, gender, readiness to learn, and level of comprehension.
Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority, preventing errors, accidents, and infections, and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Nursing.
One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency preferred.
Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.
Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
Multicultural sensitivity, customer/patient-focused.
Microsoft Office basic computer skills.
Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
