Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation of placement test scores, prerequisites, college policies and procedures, academic requirements, and course delivery methods to students.
  • Review student barriers and strategies for success, and guide students through the selection of coursework and registration process.
  • Train students in the use of advising and registration tools such as Pathway, DegreeWorks, D2L, and Navigate.
  • Work directly with students, faculty, and the general public to perform administrative duties pertaining to the front desk, library, and trouble-shooting equipment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Critical thinking skills, communicating and counseling skills, understanding of a diverse student population, and creativity are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree and some experience with Student Services is preferred.
