The Sherwin-Williams Retail Management Trainee Program is a fast-tracked, entry-level opportunity aimed at equipping current employees for a Store Management position within 18-24 months.
Embracing Sherwin-Williams' philosophy of promoting from within, you will have the chance to advance into an Assistant Store Manager role upon the successful completion of the initial 6-8-week training period.
This role typically involves a commitment of 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends.
Throughout the program, you will work closely with store management to oversee a multi-million dollar operation, providing leadership and strategic insights into the store's development.
During this journey, you will gain comprehensive knowledge of all operations, client interactions, and internal strategies, enabling you to understand the vital role you will play in the team's success.
Your efforts will contribute to expanding the company's market share by engaging with large commercial clients such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other significant users requiring substantial volumes of our premium products.

- Market Expansion: Collaborate with the Store Manager to conduct outside sales calls to increase market share.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
- Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a "meets expectations" (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal.
- If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a retail, sales, or customer service role.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a leadership capacity, supervising others or leading teams.
- Previous experience selling paint and paint-related products.
- Experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- An associate degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented environment, including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
