Position Overview: Line Cook

The Line Cook plays a crucial role in our kitchen, responsible for executing our culinary vision through the preparation and presentation of menu items. This position demands a commitment to excellence and adherence to our high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present menu items with precision, including ingredient prep, cooking, and plating.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of new dishes.
  • Enhance culinary skills and learn new techniques to contribute to the kitchen's success.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas, including cooking equipment and preparation spaces.
  • Participate in the thorough cleaning of kitchen work areas to uphold safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support colleagues and foster a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of culinary experience or a degree in Culinary Arts.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field.
  • Proficient in food safety practices and knife skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
  • Capability to remain composed under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for food and a strong work ethic.
  • Open to feedback and able to implement constructive guidance.
  • Physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently at various kitchen stations.
  • Experience in mentoring and training new kitchen staff.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a commitment to professional development.

Physical Requirements

  • This role involves visual, auditory, and verbal skills, along with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. It also requires standing and moving for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and performing various physical tasks throughout shifts.
