Electrical Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at PCL Industrial Services, Inc. in Arizona. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the success of our projects, working closely with our project managers and engineers to ensure the timely and successful completion of electrical projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantity takeoffs, quantity surveys, and data input to manage contract progress, reporting, and change management.
- Communicate with and oversee trade contractor work, providing day-to-day direction as needed.
- Maintain contracts with complex subcontracted scopes, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and monitoring progress.
- Maintain project document control and procedures, administering RFI, shop drawings, and other documents.
- Consult with designers/engineers to review drawings and suggest value-added or alternative construction methods or materials.
- Work with project managers to create and issue tender packages and subcontracts on complex scopes, monitoring their progress.
- Complete project closeout, including document archival, maintenance, and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
- Manage change order process, including pricing, negotiating, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Work with project managers and superintendents to manage overall project performance on complex projects or scopes, focusing on site HSE, cost management, schedule, quality, and status and progress reporting.
- Oversee inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, expediting material orders as needed.
- Conduct basic safety inspections and training, identifying hazards and corrections, and leading by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
- Assist with site inspections from the design team to resolve constructability and site coordination issues, reviewing and signing off on functionality, AHJ requirements, and code compliance, and identifying installation deficiencies and witnessing and signing off on systems commissioning.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in construction in an operational role, with construction trade certification or equivalent experience, or a post-secondary diploma or bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards as per discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of means and methods and construction sequences.
- Ability to apply advanced engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
- Advanced knowledge of construction law, building codes, and ASME piping codes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and delegate simple tasks.
- Ability to formulate subcontracts and administer subcontracts and contract documents.
- Ability to create and schedule projects valued between $3M and $50M.
- Demonstrates strong relationship management with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners and decision makers.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems, including Baseplate applications, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
