Per Diem Audiologist

As a Per Diem Audiologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide diagnostic evaluations of the auditory and vestibular systems, assessing the neurological status of adults and children. You will also provide direction, counseling, and recommendations regarding the rehabilitation of hearing-impaired patients. This role requires a strong understanding of audiology principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Selects, performs, and interprets diagnostic test data for pediatric and geriatric populations, vestibular function, and facial nerve integrity.
- Counsels patients and informs them of future therapeutic plans.
- Provides mobile diagnostic services for inpatients, ICU, NICU, and operative patients.
- Performs evaluations, assessments, and referrals for hearing aids.
- Keeps accurate and comprehensive records in patients' medical charts and department-based files.
- Performs daily equipment biological calibrations, maintains equipment, and initiates requests for repair.
- Instructs monthly patient education classes.
- Assists families with placement into appropriate education settings for hearing-impaired children.
- Serves as a resource for hearing and vestibular assessment (and rehabilitation) to physicians, paraprofessionals, and patients regarding hearing health diagnostics and care.
Basic Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology required.
- Audiologist License (California) required.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
- National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Additional Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Audiologist preferred.
Notes:
This position requires travel to Ontario as needed.
