Position Overview

We are seeking a Milwaukee Area Sales Specialist (also known as Beverage Advocate) to join our expanding Sales team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong enthusiasm for cider, a keen interest in fermentation, and a proactive attitude towards learning and growth in a dynamic industry. This role involves engaging with both off-premise and on-premise accounts to boost sales and market presence through effective product distribution, promotional activities, and display execution. The primary focus will be on retail operations for Schilling Cider brands, dedicating approximately 85% of the time in the field across the state of Wisconsin, particularly in major metropolitan areas.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations:

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy for Schilling Cider to expand market share in Wisconsin, focusing on key urban centers.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Sales for the Midwest & Mid-Atlantic to create and execute weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans aimed at achieving annual sales objectives.
  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key retailers.
  • Represent Schilling Cider at various events, including festivals, tastings, and promotional gatherings within the designated territory.
  • Enhance product distribution while educating retailers, restaurateurs, and consumers about the Schilling Cider portfolio.
  • Engage with existing accounts to secure new distribution, execute promotional activities, and enhance market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase volume and distribution within the assigned area.
  • Ensure optimal merchandising of products and point-of-sale materials in accordance with brand standards.
  • Generate sales by maintaining and increasing shelf presence and product positioning.
  • Coordinate events and promotions to boost brand visibility and drive sales.
  • Execute monthly initiatives with chain accounts, focusing on closing authorization gaps and enhancing product displays.
  • Maintain clear communication with distributor partners regarding retail opportunities and authorizations.
  • Provide valuable feedback to the Chain Account and Marketing teams regarding retail successes and challenges.
  • Achieve sales targets aligned with our CIDER Selling Process.
  • Organize and lead General Sales Meetings with all wholesaler channel teams.

Sales Administration:

  • Compile and submit reports on market performance and general area insights to management and wholesalers.
  • Maintain an organized business calendar, scheduling activities at least 60 days in advance.
  • Effectively utilize sales tools such as KARMA, VIP, Nielsen, and IRI.
  • Summarize weekly accomplishments and communicate them to wholesalers.
  • Inform about chain activities, new product launches, and incentive opportunities.
  • Adapt distributor management strategies based on evolving business needs.
  • Coordinate with wholesalers to close commitment opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Full vaccination for COVID-19, including a booster shot, is required.
  • Must reside in or be within commuting distance to the Milwaukee Metro area.
  • Genuine passion for cider and the beverage industry.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable with mobile technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lift and handle 30lb cases and team lift kegs.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrates initiative and approachability.
