Position Overview As a Senior Artisan Baker, you will be responsible for crafting and baking premium quality baked goods that align with Whole Foods Market's high standards. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the preparation, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking of bread and other bakery items. You will also provide guidance and support to fellow bakers and team members, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Skillfully mixes, divides, shapes, proofs, and bakes bread and bakery products to meet Whole Foods Market specifications.
- Maintains precise mixing times, temperature logs, and production documentation.
- Develops, communicates, and adjusts daily production schedules in collaboration with the baking team.
- Ensures consistency in daily production regarding both the quantity and quality of finished goods.
- Regularly evaluates production results to uphold the quality of the Enterprise scratch bread program.
- Prepares, packages, weighs, and prices products for retail sale.
- Monitors product quality and freshness, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
- Exemplifies and delivers exceptional customer service.
- Mentors and trains fellow bakers on the execution of relevant bakery programs to maintain quality standards.
- Arrives at the work station punctually, well-groomed, and ready to perform scheduled shifts and attend necessary training sessions.
- Provides outstanding customer service, promptly addressing customer needs and employing suggestive selling techniques.
- Maximizes sales potential through effective procedures for preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising of products.
- Adheres to established procedures, including health and sanitation standards, and safe work practices.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment, ensuring equipment meets cleanliness and safety standards.
- Completes opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy in signage and pricing.
- Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by leadership.
- Utilizes appropriate production tools and reporting methods to enhance sales and minimize shrinkage.
- Assists in training and onboarding new bakers within the store and other locations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of bakery production processes and equipment, particularly in scratch bread.
- High energy and enthusiasm, demonstrating a passion for Whole Foods Market products and values.
- Ability to follow production schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in following recipes accurately.
- Capable of identifying and resolving production issues related to bread-making.

- In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking for 6-8 hours.
- Hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to varying temperatures: below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment, including knives and electric pallet jacks.
- May require the use of ladders.
