Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic Transport to join our team at Ascension Via Christi. As a Paramedic Transport, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  • Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
  • Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
