Construction Associate II

Michael Baker International is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Inspector, you will work on various infrastructure projects in New Jersey, including facilities, highway, bridge, railroad, and utility construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include performing on-site construction inspection, quantity measurement and calculation, and field report documentation. You will also assist with managing Michael Baker subconsultants' and third-party construction inspection project staff, ensuring that projects are constructed in accordance with approved construction documents and permits. Additionally, you will adhere to Michael Baker's and client's policies and procedures, maintain client satisfaction, and work under the supervision of Michael Baker's Construction Services Lead.
Professional Requirements
5-10 years of construction inspection experience
Experience with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, PANYNJ, NYCDEP, County and/or municipal projects performing inspection of highway construction and/or structural components (bridges, retaining walls, sign structures), including earthwork, concrete and/or asphalt paving construction, drainage, water quality basins and utility construction
OSHA 10hr Certification or ability to obtain
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Excellent English language skills, written and verbal
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) etc.
Basic knowledge of CPM scheduling techniques is preferred
