English Instructor

We are seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in the English discipline. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file.

As an English instructor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a diverse educational community and cultural learning environment that supports student success.

• Teach English courses to students at the community college level
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development

A Master's degree in English or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in English is required. Teaching experience is preferred, and experience with leadership at a community college or educational institution is a plus.

Experience with online platforms and delivery of instruction, as well as the ability to use technology for instruction, are highly valued. On-line delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project-based, service-learning, or inquiry-based learning will be given special consideration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and/or visual inspection at distances close to the eyes.
