  • Receive a certification bonus of $500 upon starting the position, with an additional $500 awarded after successfully completing a 12-month probationary period.
  • Previous EMS experience may qualify for Parity Pay based on prior agency call volume.

Incentive Compensation:

Total of $8000 structured as follows:
$4000 disbursed after training completion
An additional $4000 one year post-training completion
Initial payments following the required training must be completed within the specified timeframe.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver emergency medical care, including administering medications and intravenous fluids to those who are injured, ill, or incapacitated.
Operate emergency medical vehicles.
Lift, transport, and carry individuals from residential or accident locations to medical facilities.

Key Duties:

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Restore, defibrillate, and stabilize heart rhythms in patients who are pulseless and non-breathing.
Monitor cardiac patients using electrocardiography equipment.
Administer medications according to established protocols.
Initiate intravenous fluids for medication administration or fluid replacement.
Perform endotracheal intubation to secure airways and assist in patient ventilation.
Utilize pneumatic anti-shock garments to enhance blood circulation.
Observe, document, and report patient conditions, reactions to treatments, and significant incidents to a physician.
Stabilize, immobilize, and transport victims from accident scenes.
Communicate with medical personnel at treatment facilities to obtain treatment instructions and arrange for patient reception.
Operate specialized emergency medical vehicles to respond to incidents and transport patients.

FIELD TRAINING OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist management in developing training programs and materials.
Conduct training sessions and provide technical guidance on medical treatment, protocols, quality assurance, policies, and regulations.
Monitor the performance and progress of new hires, EMT trainees, interns, and other personnel involved in emergency medical services.
Ensure adherence to medical protocols by reviewing on-scene practices or conducting retrospective assessments.
Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of ambulances; ensure timely completion of documentation and paperwork.

ADDITIONAL PARAMEDIC INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and instruct training courses, including EMT-P, EMT-B, and EMT-FR, as well as continuing education and community CPR, First Aid, and EMS Awareness courses.
Gather information from involved parties, assess victims, and determine the nature and extent of illnesses or injuries to establish appropriate emergency medical procedures.
Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination.
Successful completion of a pre-employment polygraph test.
Annual medical examination as mandated by regulations.
Vaccination for hepatitis B or evidence of immunity, or a signed declination form within the initial assignment period.
Ability to work a varied schedule.
Completion of a paramedic training program approved by the relevant medical licensure board.
Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic in the State.
Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

INSTRUCTOR:
Certification as a CPR Instructor in Basic Life Support by a recognized authority or obtain within the first year of employment.
Certification as an EMS Instructor, Level II, in the State or obtain within the first year of employment.
Certification as an EMS Instructor, Level III, in the State or obtain within the first year of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Meet regular attendance standards and any special requirements of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and related work.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting.
Lift and carry items exceeding 100 pounds in a team setting.
