Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to HVAC systems, including associated mechanical equipment and utilities.
  • Ensure uninterrupted, efficient, and safe operation of all boilers, heating, air conditioning, ventilation systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform service and repair of hot water boilers, high and low pressure steam boilers, and other types of pressure vessels.
  • Display a working comprehension of various control systems, mechanical equipment, and ventilation systems.
  • Take initiative to adjust equipment and temperature settings as needed.
  • Conduct and log daily equipment rounds to ensure operation and initiate repairs as necessary.
  • Perform general plumbing repairs and maintain responsibility for building utilities.
  • Respond to general service requests and determine probable cause and initiate corrective measures.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of condenser coils, air handling equipment, and steam boilers.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a hospital setting or related field.
  • City of Chicago Stationary Engineer's License required.
  • Training and coordination sufficient to handle various tools and equipment.
