Job Summary

SMX is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician II to support our customer at Webster Field. This position plays a critical role in a rapid integration facility (SCRIF) and involves building cables for multiple aircraft platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring schematics, and cable run sheets to ensure accurate cable assembly.
  • Build a variety of cable assemblies, from standard RF and data cables to complex multipin and fiber cables, using precision tools and techniques.
  • Integrate networking, SATCOM, RF, and power equipment into stationary, vehicular, and case-based racks, adhering to instructions and safety protocols.
  • Run and dress cables and wires in equipment racks, ensuring neat and organized installations.
  • Solder connector pins and wires to build cable assemblies, maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical discipline, with a focus on cable assembly and integration.
  • Able to obtain a DoD secret security clearance.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time, as required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with attention to detail and punctuality.
  • Current solder certification or ability to achieve certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active secret clearance.
  • Experience with equipment rack integration and cable dressing.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, wiring schematics, and cable run sheets.
  • Experience with building different types of cable assemblies.
