Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards.
  • Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
  • Position patients according to the type of surgery.
  • Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case.
  • Under the direction of a professional nurse, perform all processes that relate to the delivery of direct patient care and assistance care in the OR prior to and during any surgical procedure.
Requirements
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
  • Ability to proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas including but not limited to: Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, Robotics, etc.
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Maintains proper traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies and procedures.
