Telecommunications Lineman Job Description

At Kanaan Communications, LLC, we're seeking a skilled Telecommunications Lineman to join our team. As a Telecommunications Lineman, you'll play a critical role in installing and repairing aerial telecommunications fiber and copper cables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment, such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more
  • Direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines
  • Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
  • Work in multiple locations
  • Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
Requirements:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Valid driver's license
  • Prior experience as a lineman placing aerial and underground telecommunication cable (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environments
  • Ability to climb utility poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
