Lifeguard Trainee

This Lifeguard (In Training) role is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in pool safety and emergency procedures. As a member of our team, you will work closely with certified lifeguards to learn and master the necessary skills to become a certified lifeguard.

• Shadow and assist lifeguards to gain hands-on experience and learn programming and emergency procedures.
• Communicate policies and procedures to members and staff, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

• Minimum age of 15.
• Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Stage 5 level swimming skill).
• Dedicated to member safety and the mission and philosophy of the YMCA.

This role requires working in a pool environment, with the ability to support child or adult body weight in the water. You must be able to remain alert and focused in a warm environment with air temperatures of 80 degrees or higher.
