Position Overview

The Travel Nurse RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients across various age groups. This role requires a deep understanding of patient conditions and treatments, along with the ability to work autonomously in a clinical setting.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS certification is mandatory until ACLS is acquired.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications must be secured within six months of employment commencement and prior to the completion of clinical orientation.
  • NRP certification is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
  • Possess an active RN license in Alaska at the time of application.
  • Must have received the flu vaccination.
  • Coordinate and execute a variety of nursing care procedures, adhering to physician orders and established standards of care.
  • Utilize nursing policies and procedures manuals, along with hospital guidelines, to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor's, Associate's, or Diploma).
  • Preferred: Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience.
  • Prior experience in Critical Care Services is advantageous.
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted RN license in Alaska.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS and PALS must be obtained within the specified timeframe.
  • Knowledge of Critical Care nursing principles, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Ability to identify and respond to emergently ill patients and adverse symptoms promptly.
  • Familiarity with critical care medications, their effects, and potential complications.
  • Skills in operating and monitoring essential emergency medical equipment.
  • Proficient in critical response protocols.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for accurate patient data management.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and visitors.
  • Capability to implement appropriate nursing interventions based on diverse nursing diagnoses and evidence-based practices.
  • Recognize and respond to subtle adverse signs and symptoms, implementing life-saving measures as necessary.
