SSM Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to lead our Emergency Department team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of unit staffing, ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Coordination: Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts. Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
- Patient Care Planning: Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population-appropriate patient care is given.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with advanced practice providers to ensure quality outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
- Staff Development and Evaluation: May provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.
- Physical and Environmental Demands: Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
- Experience: One year of registered nurse experience.
