Job Title: Chief, Division of Pediatric Critical Care

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of pediatric intensivists, fellows, and advanced practice practitioners in providing exceptional patient care, advancing research and education, and cultivating a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in clinical, research, and educational missions.

About the Division

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care is a vital and growing academic center with a 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that treats children from birth to 21 years of age. Our team includes specialized pediatric physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social workers, child life specialists, physical and speech therapists, and case managers. We are a level one pediatric trauma center and work closely with nearly every pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty.

About the Department

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development. We are home to over $30.5M in sponsored research and have a strong track record of educational excellence. Our faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Division of Pediatric Critical Care in providing exceptional patient care and advancing research and education
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in clinical, research, and educational missions
  • Work closely with the Department of Pediatrics and other Health Science Center colleges to advance research and education
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of pediatric critical care
Requirements
  • M.D. degree or equivalent
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida
  • Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine
  • Active research portfolio and grant funding (preferred)
