The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team in the Department of Anesthesiology. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the academic mission of the College of Medicine.
Essential Functions- Conduct preoperative evaluations, assessing patient conditions and selecting appropriate anesthetic techniques in consultation with attending anesthesiologists.
- Prepare equipment for anesthesia administration, including checking machines, small equipment, blood pressure cuffs, endotracheal tubes, and drugs.
- Administer anesthesia, monitoring vital signs and other indicators of anesthesia's effects on patients, and recording patient conditions during and after administration.
- Conduct postoperative follow-up, ensuring optimal patient conditions and visiting patients within 24-48 hours to assess post-anesthetic recovery.
- Administer anesthesia under the direct supervision of a faculty physician anesthesiologist.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment and supervise RN students in clinical instruction and anesthetic administration.
- Participate in call coverage with faculty anesthesiologists.
- Master's degree, with a DNP degree preferred.
- Current Nursing license in the state of Ohio.
- Certificate of Authority to practice in Ohio as a CRNA by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Current certification or recertification as a nurse anesthetist by the NBCRNA.
- Meets the educational requirements set forth by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
