The Physician Assistant - Surgical Specialty-Operative provides high-quality patient care as a licensed, certified, non-physician healthcare provider. This role involves rendering direct patient care, possessing delegated prescriptive authority, and being credentialed and privileged within the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories to assess patient conditions.
- Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests to inform patient care.
- Prescribe and recommend medical therapies, procedures, and interventions to address patient needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive patient treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine and professional guidelines.
- Counsel patients and families on medical processes, health promotion, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatment plans and outcomes.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
