Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Linfield Christian School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, management, and education of student-athlete injuries/illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services to student-athletes, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Manage the athletic training clinic, athletic training students, and student-athletes who fall under the care of the athletic training clinic.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by the Athletic Director with regard to the functions of the athletic health care team (AHCT).
  • Manage athletic clearance and communicate clearance status to Athletic Director and relevant coaches.
  • Demonstrate and instruct staff in performance of the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aid) and reconditioning as set forth by the NATA-BOC.
  • Demonstrate and instruct staff in proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
  • Instruct the AHCT in proper procedures with regard to carrying out all treatments and recommendations by the primary AHCT.
  • Demonstrate ability to design and implement strength and conditioning programs.
  • Maintain NATA-BOC and CPR certification in accordance with those respective institutions.
  • Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the AD.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the athlete status and interpret the appropriate information.
  • Manage coaches' CPR/First Aid Clearance documentation and teach courses as necessary to renew/certify coaches. (Must be AHA certified instructor)
  • Provide CPR courses for faculty/staff of LCS (must be AHA certified instructor)
Qualifications
  • Have a current first aid card on file with the school Athletics Department
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with coaches, students, faculty/staff and parents.
  • Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Set deadlines and priorities; adhere to safety practices; work with frequent interruptions, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in a health related field.
  • Current NATA-BOC certification that is in good standing.
  • CPR/AED/1st Aid certification in accordance with NATA-BOC requirements.
  • Experience in a high school setting is preferred.
  • More than 2 years of experience in an athletic setting is preferred.
  • Experience with supervision or management of high school students is preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to assist with or transfer athletes of various weight/heights.
  • Must be able to push carts with athletic equipment on them.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to communicate, to give adequate directions, and give clear instructions to subordinates.
  • Must be able to carry training kit and coolers for long distances.
  • Must be able to work with a dynamic and demanding schedule.
Exposure Category

Will have close contact with patients and are likely to come in contact with blood and body fluids.

Contract Term

Contracted term is 11 Months (approx. 213 days)

Contract may be renewed annually
