At Healing Treatment Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NOC Counselor to join our team.
Job Summary:
The NOC Counselor will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for residents in our 6-bed detoxification and residential program during nighttime hours. This role requires a strong ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to crisis situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Residential Monitoring and Support:
- Conduct regular checks on residents to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Monitor and document any behavioral changes, incidents, or medical issues that arise during the shift.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
- Crisis Intervention:
- Respond promptly to any crises or emergencies that may arise during the night.
- Implement crisis intervention techniques and de-escalate situations as needed.
- Communicate effectively with on-call supervisors and emergency services when necessary.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of nightly activities, incidents, and resident progress.
- Complete shift reports summarizing activities and any noteworthy occurrences.
- Supportive Services:
- Provide emotional support and guidance to residents during nighttime hours.
- Facilitate group discussions or therapeutic activities as scheduled.
- Encourage and promote resident engagement in treatment activities.
- Safety and Security:
- Ensure the physical security of the facility by monitoring access and conducting perimeter checks.
- Enforce program rules and guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Address any breaches of safety protocols or unauthorized activity promptly and appropriately.
- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with daytime staff regarding resident progress, concerns, and treatment plans.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and case conferences as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and support for residents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in residential treatment settings, detox facilities, or similar environments preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to crisis situations.
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment principles and therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
Working Conditions:

- The role involves direct interaction with residents experiencing substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges.
- Physical demands include walking, standing, and occasional lifting or assisting residents as needed.
