Pharmacy Department Manager

At Publix Super Markets, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Pharmacy Manager to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and services, while also leading and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide best-in-class pharmacy service to patients, empowering staff to provide value and service through counseling and personalized relationships.
- Mentor, train, and develop a high-functioning pharmacy team, providing developmental opportunities and challenging assignments to grow and develop each staff member.
- Manage department performance, including scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure complex operational activities are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure continuous improvement and maintain a competitive advantage by understanding metrics as they relate to sales and service in the pharmacy, using best practices and making sound business decisions.
- Be regarded as an expert on the pharmacy technology system and how it is used for both routine and complex prescription processing.
- Excel in managing medication on-hand inventory and be regarded as an expert in pharmacy inventory operations, mentoring others on best practices to maximize sales, minimize shrink, and meet customers' needs.
- Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and immunizations.
- Participate locally as a community pharmacist in events that meet the unique health and preventative care needs within the local area, such as health screenings.
- Maintain a flexible work-week schedule to meet the needs of our customers.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a graduate of a school of pharmacy.
- Must have and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license.
- Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in a private, federal, or state health insurance program upon hire and thereafter.
- Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Be an immunizing pharmacist meeting the requirements as established by the state (or be scheduled to become an immunizer in the next set of training classes).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret and understand instructions and solve problems.
- Numerical and financial aptitude.
- Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory control.
