About the Position:

Carnegie Mellon University's School of Art is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach a practical and theoretical introduction to the production, realization, presentation, analysis, and critique of contemporary moving image media.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver course content in non-linear video editing, animation, and visual effects compositing
  • Instruct students in the creation and presentation of moving image works
  • Evaluate student work and enter grades into online systems
  • Supervise teaching assistants and perform related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master of Fine Arts or equivalent degree
  • Experience in the field of electronic media and moving image art
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of critical theory
  • Active studio practice and experience critiquing work across various modes of creative practice
