Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the MRI/CT supervisor, this role performs patient examinations and related activities, adhering to established protocols and demonstrating knowledge of digital environments. The successful candidate will review images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation, maintain patient records, and ensure the correct patient is being imaged in accordance with hospital protocols. Additionally, they will complete associated paperwork, perform QA/QC on equipment as needed, and stock exam rooms with basic supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform patient exams in accordance with established protocols and demonstrate knowledge of digital environments.
  • Review images prior to archiving to PACS and for submission to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure the correct patient is being imaged in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Complete associated paperwork and perform QA/QC on equipment as needed.
  • Stock exam rooms with basic supplies and start IVs and/or administer contrast as needed.
  • Provide student technologists with basic procedural concepts within the responsible modality.
  • Share emergency call as required and demonstrate appropriate computer skills.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an approved AMA school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintain 12 CEUs yearly.
  • Three years of MRI or CT experience preferred.
  • Licensed with Mississippi Department of Health (MSRT).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT R.T. (R) Radiography.
