Job Title: Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Sigma Healthcare Team. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

This position is based in the Juneau Physical Therapy Department, where you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide general Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) evaluations and treatments. Your primary focus will be on assessing, treating, and evaluating patients with a wide range of speech and language disorders, including dysphasia and neurology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive SLP evaluations and assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based SLP treatments and interventions to patients, including modified barium swallow exams and bedside clinical swallowing examinations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in SLP.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • 3 years of experience providing therapy to patients with speech and language disorders.
  • Licensed by the State of Alaska in the field of Speech Language Pathology.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
