About the Position: This role involves advanced supervisory responsibilities overseeing all functions within a state correctional institution. Responsibilities also encompass reconciling physical counts, compiling incident reports, and implementing changes to enhance safety and control. Additionally, the position requires reviewing budget requests from different divisions.
What You'll Need to Succeed: The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a high level of organization. Attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and the ability to enforce policies and procedures are essential. A collaborative spirit and a commitment to teamwork are also crucial for success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree along with 5-7 years of experience in corrections is typically required, including management experience. Candidates must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and have completed the requisite training program at the Mississippi Department of Corrections or an equivalent program approved by the agency. Selected candidates will undergo a polygraph examination.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of relevant correctional experience, including management.
