We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Clerk to join our team at Baltimore County. As an Office Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our department, ensuring the smooth operation of our office, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive clerical work in support of a County program or agency
- Review, prepare, and process records, forms, applications, and similar documents according to appropriate laws, rules, regulations, policies, or procedures
- Process applications for permits for public gatherings, firearms registration, amusement concessions, and various other public activities requiring permits or licenses
- Retrieve, edit, and release sensitive and confidential information according to established guidelines and procedures
- Update and maintain automated inventory systems
- Prepare work orders, requisitions, vouchers, and other standard office forms
- Code, enter, and retrieve information using data entry devices
- Operate office machinery, such as mimeograph machines, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators
- Update and maintain filing systems, lists, log books, and rosters
- Answer routine inquiries from the public, or direct inquiries to proper agency
- Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency
- One year's general clerical experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
The work among positions in this class varies, but most often involves frequent walking and standing, some lifting and carrying of objects of moderate weight.
