Geotechnical Field Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Field Engineer to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a Geotechnical Field Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting geotechnical field investigations, monitoring heavy civil construction projects, and performing civil design, landfill design, and site layout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical field investigations and monitoring of heavy civil construction projects
  • Perform civil design, landfill design, and site layout
  • Evaluate dams and levees
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage
  • Characterize geotechnical sites
  • Manage small projects and tasks, and prepare proposals
  • Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (preferred)
  • At least 2 years (5+ preferred) of work experience in engineering consulting
  • Experience with geotechnical and engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS
  • Regular field work and overnight travel
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
