Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health - IHA. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain high-quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Confirm patient identity and check in patients, schedule appointments, and create Radiology Module.
  2. Greets and courteously escorts patients and other guests to examination rooms.
  3. Interprets patient histories and physician instructions, prepares patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile technique.
  4. Positions patients for radiologic examination, selects exposure factors, takes exposure, and processes images while practicing radiation protection.
  5. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures through the application of ionizing radiation to produce digitized images.
  6. May operate diagnostic bone density equipment to obtain pertinent information and images necessary for interpretation by physician per ISCD criteria.
  7. Records pertinent information on requisitions and directly enters medication, laboratory, and/or radiology orders into the electronic medical record per state, local, and professional guidelines.
  8. Responds to patient emergencies as needed, cleans work area, examination rooms, and equipment as needed, and performs limited maintenance of equipment.
  9. Performs image-management duties within the PACS system and NextGen as required.
  10. Documents patient information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure continuity of high-quality healthcare.
  11. Completes forms in accordance with office and IHA protocols, sends letters and reminders to patients, and serves as liaison between patient and physician when necessary.
  12. Maintains compliance with government and reimburser requirements and with clinic standards of care.
  13. Provides support to clerical and clinical staff and providers as needed.
Requirements
  1. Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Valid CPR certification and valid registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  3. For those obtaining Bone Density images, valid certification by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire.
  4. 1-2 years' experience in a related field.
Working Conditions

This job operates in a medical facility and requires regular walking to various locations around the hospital/clinic. Employees will be working where there is patient care equipment. Hazardous materials, including bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids, are also present. Exposure to sharps, x-rays, patients' conditions, and some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious diseases is possible. This position requires significant interaction with people (many of whom are scared, hurt, and/or ill) which can be stressful and result in competing priorities.
