Support Staff for Student Success

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Staff to assist certified staff in meeting instructional goals and objectives. As a vital member of our educational program, you will play a crucial role in enabling our teaching staff to focus on other aspects of the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students, reinforcing their reading, language arts, mathematics, computer skills, and other areas of learning.
- Work collaboratively with students in small groups to reinforce basic learning concepts and implement assigned programs.
- Assist teachers in administering classroom exercises, tests, and assessments, ensuring accurate results and informed decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance, documenting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Foster a safe and orderly classroom environment by managing student behavior and minimizing disruptions.
- Supervise students in non-instructional areas, such as lunch programs, bus duty, playground supervision, corridors, study halls, and other related activities.
- Accompany students on field trips, providing guidance and support during these experiences.
- Create, copy, and distribute educational materials as needed, promoting effective communication and engagement.
- Assist students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction, maximizing their inclusion, learning, achievement, and IEP objectives.
- Participate in the IEP process, serving as a resource for the student personnel evaluation team as required.
- Support students with physical or mental disabilities, helping them participate fully in school or learning activities.
Requirements:
- Ability to follow instructions, whether written or verbal.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as necessary to assist students.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and software applications to facilitate work tasks.
- Able to work effectively with diverse individuals, maintaining positive relationships and a supportive atmosphere.
- Confidentiality is essential, respecting sensitive information regarding students, employees, and others.
- Capacity to establish compassionate relationships with students who require special support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others.
- Able to report work progress orally or in writing, as required by supervisors.
Estimated Salary Range:$35,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications:
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
- Typical qualifications would include a High School diploma or equivalent, successful completion of college-level coursework, or passing an examination as required by ESSER, with prior experience working with special needs children being desirable.
