Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining designated patient care areas within the medical facility, ensuring a sanitary, orderly, and appealing environment that promotes health and safety for all staff, patients, and visitors, in alignment with the mission and values of St. Alexius Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and clean non-patient care areas to established standards, utilizing appropriate chemicals in correct quantities.
  2. Disinfect and clean patient care areas as assigned, adhering to established protocols and using the correct chemicals for specific pathogens.
  3. Follow infection control protocols, including regular handwashing throughout the day.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to operate equipment safely, ensuring a secure environment for all age groups.
  5. Respond to emergencies and urgent situations in accordance with established policies.
  6. Ensure restrooms are adequately stocked and waste is disposed of per procedures.
  7. Report any mechanical issues or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.
  8. Assist in cost management by properly stocking supplies and maintaining cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ability to comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions. Proficiency in measuring chemicals and operating riding equipment is preferred.

Experience in cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas is highly desirable.

Pay Range

$19.82 per hour
