Job Summary

The University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Radiology Department is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and teaching specialized general diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiography procedures using a variety of imaging equipment.
  • Operate fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic imaging studies.
  • Provide instruction to trainees, students, and other medical staff on operation and safety precautions.
  • Establish rapport with patients and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
  • Utilize standard safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment.
  • Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist's supervision as required.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment.
