Job Summary

The Homeless Street Outreach Caseworker is a critical role at the Center for Human Development, responsible for providing essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness in the Litchfield county area. This position requires a strong understanding of mental health, addiction, and homelessness, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Homeless Outreach Teams to locate and provide support to individuals in need
  • Participate in community meetings to address homelessness and related issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local agencies and resources to facilitate access to services
  • Assist individuals in acquiring necessary services and support
  • Contribute to public relations efforts, including training and community outreach
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of experience in a human service organization preferred
  • Two years of experience working with adults with severe and prolonged mental illness, addiction, and homelessness, or two years of experience working with individuals in recovery, or personal experience with all
  • Individuals with lived experience encouraged to apply
Compensation

Starting at $20.00 per hour
