Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist anesthesiologists and other medical professionals during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative procedures.
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring that they are in good working order and readily available for use.
- Audit and restock anesthesia supply stations, calibrate point-of-care equipment, and perform high-level sterilization procedures.
- Provide basic level equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Order supplies via our inventory management system.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- One year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Emergency Medical Technician; or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to lift patients and equipment, as well as push and/or pull heavy objects.
