Clinical Dietitian

Job Summary: As a Clinical Dietician with Palo Pinto General Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional well-being of our patients. You will be responsible for assessing and planning the nutritional care of patients in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for patients with various health conditions, taking into account their medical history, dietary needs, and lifestyle.
- Collaborate with the Nutrition Services Director to ensure quality food service and nutritional care is provided to patients, adhering to the hospital's policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in nutrition and dietetics to provide evidence-based care, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field, with a strong foundation in nutrition science, biochemistry, and physiology.
- Experience: Experience in acute clinical care, nutrition support, and disease-specific nutrition, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.
- Skills:
- Ability to be accurate, concise, and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of quality food production, safe food preparation, and handling techniques, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
- Effective oral and written communication, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for patients in an acute care setting, with a focus on evidence-based practice.
- Understanding of principles of growth and development for the entire life span, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is strongly preferred, with a focus on staying current with industry trends and best practices.
- License or certification as mandated by the state of Texas, with a focus on patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification is preferred, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy food environment.
This role reports directly to the Chief Nursing Executive, with a focus on collaborative leadership and teamwork.
