Job Summary

Go METRO is seeking a skilled Transportation Professional to join our team as an Access Driver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services to our customers with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a passenger coach on demand, ensuring safe and efficient transportation for our customers.
  • Pre and post-inspect the coach to detect and report any safety or maintenance issues.
  • Observe and maintain safe operating practices at all times.
  • Operate wheelchair and scooter lifts as needed, ensuring the safe and proper securing of mobility aids.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering passenger questions and requests, and dealing with any disorderly or unruly passengers.
  • Document and record essential trip information as needed.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities on and off the vehicle.
  • Collect fare media, cash, and/or assist with electronic fare application usage.
  • Report mechanical defects, accidents, road hazards, personal or passenger injuries to dispatch, supervisor, or maintenance personnel.
  • Operate a two-way radio as needed.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings and other on-going trainings as presented.
  • Provide exemplary customer service at all times.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must be 21 years of age at time of hire
  • Experience driving large vehicles preferred, but not required
  • Customer Service experience preferred
  • Experience working with people with disabilities preferred, but not required
  • Competency Statement(s) Communications
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and non-verbal skills.
  • Customer Focus - Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Leadership - Energetic, innovative self-starter, committed to continuous improvement and creative problem solving.

  • Less than 4 points on driving record
  • No driver's license suspensions in last 7 years
  • Must pass background check, Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, and drug/alcohol testing
  • Must pass Customer Service and Safety assessment
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
