RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Lead Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to take charge of our CT imaging services.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding technologists within the CT department. With a focus on patient care, you will ensure that CT services are delivered in accordance with professional standards while maintaining exceptional customer service. You will play a crucial role in helping patients navigate their imaging journey by providing clear explanations and addressing any concerns they may have about the procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
CT Imaging Duties (80-85%):
- Conduct patient screenings prior to examinations to identify any precautions or contraindications, utilizing two patient identifiers for accuracy.
- Prepare and inform patients about the CT imaging procedures, ensuring they understand the process and are positioned correctly for optimal imaging.
- Execute routine and advanced CT imaging procedures on specified body areas, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, while providing continuous support to patients throughout the procedure.
- Adjust CT scan parameters as necessary, applying dose reduction techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and fellow associates.
- Adhere strictly to physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect yourself, patients, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, promoting safety for patients and staff.
- Uphold ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
- Regularly inspect and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.
Team Leadership Responsibilities (10-15%):
- Assist in the recruitment process for new team members.
- Coordinate training and onboarding for new staff.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions with associates.
- Monitor and approve timecards for team members.
- Participate in performance evaluations and support the development of associates.
- Create work schedules that accommodate planned time off while ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Assess workflow and implement improvements to enhance team efficiency.
- Ensure that the team is well-informed about company policies and procedures.
- Support associates in achieving the highest levels of patient satisfaction.
- Lead special projects and committees as assigned.
- Manage other departments in the absence of supervisors, ensuring appropriate coverage.
Additional Responsibilities (5%):
Complete other tasks as assigned to support the overall operations of the department.
