Job Title: Master Electrician - Utility Power Plants

At NovaSource Power, we are seeking a highly skilled Master Electrician to join our team in the Utility Power Plants department. As a Master Electrician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of utility-scale PV power plants, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain PV plant operation through SCADA systems
  • Commission, test, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and modify AC and DC solar PV systems
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety and arc flash standards
  • Collaborate with remote operators to ensure effective communication and issue resolution
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including inverters, PV module arrays, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 12,000 hours (6 years) of practical electrical experience, including at least 4,000 hours (2 years) as a journeyman electrician
  • Experience in operating and maintaining power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls systems operation, troubleshooting advanced electrical components, and using procedures to perform equipment preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Master Electrician License required in the State of Utah
  • Equivalent training in the military, utility, or power industry is a plus
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Working knowledge of industrial or power facility operation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of local and national electrical codes
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding Electrical schematics and prints
