Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

MedVanta is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our Physical Therapists in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including required documentation in patients' medical records.
  • Perform and document tests and measurements appropriate for the given condition, including strength, range of motion, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency of the patient.
  • Administer treatment within the scope of physical therapy practice, as directed by the Physical Therapist, to decrease pain, increase range of motion and strength, and promote function.
  • Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and/or lack thereof, and discuss and implement changes in the patient's treatment plan as directed.
  • Meet or exceed CAO productivity standards as provided by the respective CAO therapy Division.
  • Document treatments, responses, progress, and outcomes in the chart of the patient, according to federal and state regulations and CAO requirements.
  • Document and select appropriate CPT codes, which correlate to treatment administered and directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, and submit billing charges as directed.
  • Abide by all insurance guidelines required for insurance coverage and reimbursement, coordinating care in accordance with current authorizations, referrals, treatment plans, and insurance benefits requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other medical providers to benefit the patient's recovery and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Participate actively on the Therapy team, including staff meetings, CAO-sponsored events, webinars, in-services, and departmental meetings.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the clinic, including variations in scheduled hours and staffing at another CAO location.
  • Administer treatment in accordance with all compliance regulations, as dictated by federal and state governing bodies, and in accordance with CAO best practices.
  • May be required to work a minimum of two evening shifts per week and occasional Saturdays, depending on Division operating hours.
  • Obtain necessary CEUs and other state-specific requirements to actively maintain Physical Therapist Assistant license and other required licenses or certifications.
