Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at WSSC Water. Your expertise in electrical systems and ability to lead and train subordinate engineers will be essential in driving our team's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee large complex projects with a focus on electrical systems
  • Investigate electrical distribution systems operational and maintenance issues
  • Guide and train subordinate engineers
  • Prepare and review contract documents, consultants' reports, and contractors' submittals
  • Plan, organize, and oversee multi-disciplinary engineering activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and prepare reports on electrical design, construction, maintenance, and operation issues
  • Develop and revise design guidelines, equipment criteria, construction standards, and specifications
  • Participate in long-range facility plans and system improvement projects
  • Prepare electrical cost estimates and participate in project budget estimates
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including 2+ years of design experience and 1+ year of project management experience
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a WSSC Water driver's permit
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Maryland
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering with industrial facilities
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
