The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct care and supervision to patients in a mental health setting. The individual will assist in implementing and following individualized treatment plans, monitor and document patient behaviors, progress, and any significant changes.

  • Support patients in daily activities, therapeutic exercises, and group sessions
  • Ensure a safe and structured environment for individuals receiving treatment
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals, social workers, and nurses to support patient care
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal mental health regulations and organizational policies
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certification in psychiatric technology or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience working in mental health, forensic, or similar settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapeutic techniques, and behavioral management strategies
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
