Position Overview
PeaceHealth is seeking a Food Service Assistant to contribute to our Nutrition Services team in a Full, 0.0 FTE, Variable position. The compensation for this role is $27.12 per hour, influenced by various factors such as education, experience, and applicable agreements.

Key Responsibilities
This role involves a range of tasks essential for the preparation, serving, cleaning, and delivery of food products, adhering to HACCP guidelines for safe food handling. Key duties include:
  • Preparing, mixing, assembling, portioning, serving, and storing food in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Operating dishwashing equipment, washing pots, and performing thorough cleaning duties while following safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Transporting equipment, food, supplies, and waste as directed.
  • May serve as a cashier in the cafeteria, managing the cash register.
  • Following set-up and clean-up guidelines for assigned stations.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred, with previous experience in retail food service being advantageous.
Credentials: Required Food Handlers Card - Alaska.

Skills:
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Effective communication skills to perform job functions safely and efficiently.

Working Conditions
Lifting Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting up to 12 lbs; occasional lifting up to 44 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and grasping.
  • Occasional squatting or kneeling, with frequent pushing/pulling of 30 lbs sustained force.

Environmental Conditions:
Ability to work in a noisy environment and around heated surfaces and liquids.

Mental/Visual Requirements:
Normal vision and hearing capabilities are necessary, with the ability to communicate effectively.
