Position Overview:
A healthcare facility in Southern Idaho is seeking experienced Telemetry Registered Nurses for a travel assignment. The role involves working 12-hour shifts.
Job Specifications:
Applicants must possess at least one year of nursing experience and are encouraged to apply even if they are first-time travelers. Team collaboration is essential.
Shift Details:
12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, scheduled by the unit coordinator. Shifts may be grouped or blocked as necessary.
Weekend Availability:
As required, with an expectation to cover every other weekend, although flexibility may be needed to fill gaps.
Holiday Coverage:
As needed based on unit requirements.
Unit Information:
Unit: Telemetry at Nampa Hospital
Number of Beds: 24
Patient Ratios: 1:4
Common Patient Diagnoses: Heart Failure, COPD, Sepsis, AFIB, Pneumonia, Stroke, Detox, Suicidal Holds
Are RNs required to titrate drips? No
Commonly used medications include: Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lidocaine.
Charge Nurse Role:
The Charge Nurse does not take on patient assignments and an Administrative Supervisor is available on-site 24/7.
Support Staff:
CNA support is available with a ratio of 1:8, providing three CNAs when the unit is at full capacity.
Respiratory Equipment:
Available equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP; patients on BiPAP for more than four hours will be transferred to ICU. High Flow oxygen is also available.
Telemetry Support:
Telemetry Technicians are present, and RNs are responsible for signing off on their strips using SpaceLabs equipment.
Floating Requirements:
RNs may be required to float to MedSurg units and potentially to Meridian or Boise for Telemetry assignments.
Dress Code:
Scrubs of any color are acceptable as long as they are clean and professional.
Orientation:
1-2 days of unit-specific orientation will be provided.
Additional Information:
Longer contracts are available. The Nampa Telemetry staff operates under a team nursing model.
