As a Local CDL Transfer Driver at Star Nursery, you will be responsible for safely operating and driving your assigned vehicle to transport goods, such as sand, gravel, and aggregate, to intended destinations for loading and unloading. Your duties will include performing pre and post-trip equipment inspections daily, adhering to company rules and regulations, and obeying all applicable traffic laws and driving in accordance with weather and road conditions.
Additionally, you will be required to maintain a clean vehicle, notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues, and maintain appropriate paperwork, including customer signatures and working hours. You will also be responsible for reporting to work primarily Monday through Friday with some Saturday assignments during busy seasons.
Requirements for this position include a current valid Class A driver's license with Doubles endorsements, no current driving record suspension or revocation, and completion of a pre-employment drug screening. You will also be required to provide an approved Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and pass a pre-employment background check. Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is also necessary for aggregate or store positions.
