About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the buildings/communities.
  • Assess repair needs and estimate the time needed for repair, working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks.
  • Monitor the functions of service contractors and building repair and maintenance contractors, ensuring that work is completed to a high standard.
  • Maintain inventories and acquisitions of maintenance supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available when needed.
  • Assist with assuring completion of Preventative Maintenance plans and procedures, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Complete assigned work orders of repairs in a timely manner, closing work order tickets in software.
  • Be on call for emergencies and projects as assigned by the property manager, working flexible hours as required.
  • Request materials, tools, and supplies needed for a job, ensuring that all necessary resources are available.
  • Record completion of preventive maintenance activities and programs, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Assist or participate in construction, installation, and preventative maintenance of equipment, working closely with other team members.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred, with current knowledge in the field of maintenance repairs and replacements through industry-sponsored educational seminars.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Nursing Home regulations and requirements, with a strong understanding of building codes and safety standards.
  • HVAC and/or other related trade licenses/certifications preferred, with a minimum of three to five years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel spreadsheets, and email, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other staff, customers, and in public areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, and navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions.
  • Valid Minnesota driver's license, with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in Long-term Care Residence or equivalent setting, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of this type of environment.
